Leigh Williamson, MA, RMHCI
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Leigh is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, and she believes change starts with the relationship. Trust comes first. She works to make her office a warm and unhurried place where you can be yourself and say the honest version of things without bracing for judgment.
She sees teens, adults, and couples who are working through a hard stretch or trying to repair something in a relationship that matters to them. Therapy isn't one size fits all, in her view, so the approach follows the client rather than the other way around. Her foundation is person-centered, and she brings in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and other integrative techniques to help people see themselves more clearly and build patterns that hold up better than the old ones.
Leigh believes everyone has the capacity to grow and heal. You don't need a crisis to justify the appointment: a difficult season or the sense of being stuck is reason enough, and so is wanting to understand yourself better. She brings compassion and curiosity to that work, and she keeps an affirming and inclusive practice where people of any background or identity are met with respect.
Leigh sees clients at our Estero and Fort Myers offices, and she works with anxiety and depression alongside relationship and life-transition concerns. If you haven't been to therapy before, it can help to read about what to expect at a first session, or browse our mental health resources for Southwest Florida.
