Kim Slote, MSW, RCSWI, JD - Registered Clinical Social Work Intern at Florida Coast Counseling in Naples, Florida

Kim Slote, MSW, RCSWI, JD

Registered Clinical Social Work Intern

Kim is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern with a Master of Social Work from Florida State University. She works with individuals and couples, and her style is collaborative and warm, the kind where you feel heard and supported while you work through whatever life has put in front of you.

Much of Kim's work is about helping people build self-awareness and reconnect with their own strengths. Together, she and her clients look at the emotional patterns, beliefs, and relationship dynamics that have kept them stuck, and she makes room to explore what matters most. Her approach is tailored to each person and draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and somatic practices like breathwork. With couples, she works from Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy.

Before becoming a therapist, Kim earned a law degree from Harvard University and spent years in advocacy, health care, and human services. That earlier chapter shows up in the room as a practical, grounded perspective — one shaped as much by her own life as by her clinical training. If you're new to therapy, it can help to read about what to expect at your first session, or explore our mental health resources for Southwest Florida.
