Izzah Zainab, MA, RMHCI
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Izzah received her Master's degree from NYU and has worked with diverse populations across New York City and internationally. With a warm, relational style, Izzah connects deeply with her clients, helping them navigate their struggles, strengths, emotions, and relationships with the self and the world.
She blends traditional, modern, and creative approaches, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theories, relational theory, and imaginative tools like storytelling, metaphor, and role-play. With younger children, Izzah draws on play therapy techniques to help kids express and process emotions through creative, developmentally appropriate activities. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and uses a trauma-informed lens in her work.
Izzah is currently practicing as a Florida Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and works with children, adolescents and adults. Parents considering therapy for their child may find our guide on how to talk to your child about therapy helpful, and anyone new to counseling can learn what to expect at a first therapy session.
