Online Therapy & Virtual Counseling in Florida
Licensed therapists providing online therapy from the comfort of your home — anywhere in Florida. The same compassionate, evidence-based care through secure video sessions. No commute, no waiting room.
Why Clients Choose Virtual Therapy From Home
More and more of our clients are choosing telehealth — not as a fallback, but as their preferred way to do therapy. And it makes sense. You can attend a session from your living room, your car on lunch break, or wherever you feel most comfortable being open and honest.
For people dealing with anxiety, depression, or trauma, the idea of driving somewhere, sitting in a waiting room, and walking into an unfamiliar office can feel like its own obstacle. Telehealth removes that barrier entirely. You just click a link, and your therapist is there.
Parents juggling school pickups and work schedules, professionals who cannot step away from the office for long, snowbirds splitting time between Florida and home — telehealth makes therapy fit your life instead of the other way around.
Benefits of Online Counseling
Comfort of Home
Meet with your therapist from your own space — where you already feel safe and relaxed. Many clients find they open up more easily from home.
No Commute
Skip the drive, the parking, and the waiting room. Your session starts with a click — saving you time and reducing stress before you even begin.
Secure & Private
Sessions use a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted video platform. Your conversations are just as confidential as they would be in our office.
Available Statewide
Whether you live in Miami, Jacksonville, Orlando, or anywhere in Florida — if you have internet access, you can work with our therapists.
Same Therapists & Methods
You get the same licensed therapists using the same evidence-based approaches — CBT, EMDR, ACT, DBT, and more. Nothing is watered down.
Insurance Accepted
Most major insurance plans cover telehealth the same as in-person visits. We will verify your benefits before your first session. Learn more.

What You Need for a Telehealth Session
- A device with a camera and microphone — laptop, tablet, or smartphone all work well
- A stable internet connection — standard home Wi-Fi or cellular data is usually sufficient
- A private, quiet space — somewhere you can speak openly without being overheard
- You must be located in Florida during the session — this is a state licensing requirement
That is it. No special apps, no complicated setup. If you can make a video call, you can do telehealth therapy.
Who Online Therapy Is Great For
Telehealth works well for most people and most concerns. It is especially helpful if you:
Have a busy schedule — fit therapy into a lunch break or between obligations without travel time
Experience anxiety — the thought of going somewhere new can be a barrier; telehealth removes it
Live outside SWFL — you can work with our therapists from anywhere in the state of Florida
Have mobility challenges — chronic pain, disability, or recovery from surgery should not keep you from getting help
Are a parent or caregiver — attend sessions while your child naps or during school hours without arranging childcare
Split time between states — snowbirds and seasonal residents can maintain continuity of care while in Florida
Is Online Therapy as Effective as In-Person?
Yes. Research consistently shows that telehealth therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person sessions for most mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and relationship issues. The therapeutic relationship — the single biggest predictor of positive outcomes — develops just as effectively through video.
Many of our clients who started with telehealth during the pandemic have chosen to continue virtually even though our offices are open. They find that being in their own environment helps them feel more at ease, and the convenience means they are more likely to keep their appointments consistently — which is one of the most important factors in successful therapy.
That said, some clients prefer the structure of coming into the office, and some situations may benefit from in-person work. You are always welcome to switch between telehealth and in-person visits at our Naples, Estero, or Fort Myers offices — whatever works best for you on any given week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does insurance cover telehealth sessions?
Yes. Most major insurance plans cover telehealth therapy at the same rate as in-person sessions. We accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Medicare, United Healthcare, and others. We will verify your specific benefits before your first appointment. Visit our insurance page for details.
Do I have to live near your offices to use telehealth?
No. You can be located anywhere in the state of Florida. Our therapists are licensed in Florida, which means they can provide telehealth services to any client who is physically in the state during the session. You do not need to live in Southwest Florida.
What if I have technical difficulties during a session?
It happens occasionally, and it is never a problem. If your connection drops, simply rejoin using the same link. If video is not working, your therapist can continue the session by phone. We build a few extra minutes into scheduling so a brief tech hiccup does not cut into your session time.
Can I switch between telehealth and in-person?
Absolutely. Many of our clients alternate based on their schedule or preference for the week. There is no commitment to one format. Just let us know when you book whether you would like a virtual or in-office appointment.
Is telehealth appropriate for couples or family sessions?
Yes. Couples counseling and family sessions work well through telehealth. Both partners or family members can join from the same device or from separate locations — which can sometimes be helpful when emotions are running high.
Can EMDR therapy be done through telehealth?
Yes. Several of our therapists provide EMDR through telehealth using adapted techniques such as bilateral tapping and visual cues on screen. Research supports the effectiveness of virtual EMDR, and many clients find it works just as well as in-person sessions.
How is my privacy protected during telehealth?
We use a HIPAA-compliant video platform with end-to-end encryption. Your sessions are not recorded. We follow the same strict privacy and confidentiality standards as our in-office sessions. We also recommend that you use a private space with headphones for added privacy on your end.
