Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 2026

Florida Coast Counseling is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to our website.

Our Goal

We aim for our website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or other assistive technologies.

What We Have Done

  • Added a skip-to-main-content link for keyboard users
  • Used semantic HTML elements (nav, main, header, footer) throughout the site
  • Provided descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • Marked decorative images and graphics with aria-hidden="true"
  • Applied visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
  • Used ARIA labels on interactive elements such as navigation menus
  • Maintained a logical heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3) on all pages
  • Included the language attribute (lang="en") on all pages
  • Ensured all form fields have accessible labels
  • Provided breadcrumb navigation with proper ARIA markup

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards. We are aware of the following and are working to address them:

  • Some color contrast ratios for secondary text colors may not meet the 4.5:1 requirement in all contexts
  • Embedded Google Maps iframes may have limited keyboard accessibility
  • Older content may not fully conform to current standards

Feedback and Contact

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any barriers to access, or if you need information in an alternative format, please contact us:

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights or file a complaint with the ADA National Network.
